On Facebook, in a support group for families who have kids with heart defects, the topic of what not to say to fathers... one was saying the child will never participate in sports.
I said fishing is a good sport! You get out in the fresh air, the activity level can be adjusted to individual needs (I used to be able to hike out a bit... now I can barely make it from the parking lot to a city pond shore 100 feet away). You don't have referees, coaches, other parents screaming about losing the game.
