Anyone heard by chance what the Ice is looking like on Fontenelle or Viva Naughton? Me and a buddy are thinking of going up there at the end of the month. We're hoping it'll be ice free then.
Any input from recent trips would be helpful, we've never fished it. Thanks!

I got relatives up that way - so will ask. They are great spots to catch the ice off bite

No worries! Thanks for reaching out, I'll keep my eyes open for other reports. If that's two weeks old then ice off should be soon.
Fingers crossed!!!

Any more word on Viva Ice? I figured it would be close with all of this warm weather and wind.
Thanks!

A fresh report of ice receding fast and some open shore at Fontanel with browns hitting near the dam. Now to be fair this report comes from a notorious fishing fibber who gave me the location to a secret lake in the Unitas with 5 lbs brookies hiding under the lilly pads. There were brookies, but more like 5 inches - so if you go and the ice is not as reported, I will give you his number.

Makes sense. Hopefully if Fontenelle is starting to have ice off then Viva would as well.
Thanks again for the information and help!
