Hello,
So, I was at a father-son camp-out on the Middle Fork of the Payette River. I just got back. I brought my fly fishing pole, and I had quite an experience.
So, I had my waders on, was in the river fly fishing, 10 minutes after I started, a monster fish hit my line. I could tell immediately that this was one big fish. I was reeling it in, when my hand slipped, and my reel was letting out line fast. It went all the way back to my fly lines backing before I got control. Then, while I was trying to reel it in, with the river moving fast, and the weight of the fish, my backing broke and I lost all my fly line.
It spooled me.
Well, I didn't catch it, the fishing day ended early, but this experience was still very fun, even though I lost all my fly line.
Picture is attached.
