My Personal best Red Fleet Wiper!!!
#1
I went to Red Fleet this afternoon and on my first cast with a maniac minnow on 1/8 ounce jig and I caught my best Red Fleet Wiper to date. Caught about 10 Wipers in all and the others were dinks. I measured this one at 20 inches they are growing.

Red Fleet still isn't worth the drive for you folks yet but maybe next year it will be a destination. The Wiper are doing really well but the Walleye was a Dwr flop. The crappie are also doing real well but they are still real small but they are growing. Yellow Perch are doing reasonably well and also some of the Trout Species. I have caught some decent Tigers up to 17 inches and Rainbows up to 20 inches but I have not caught a Brown or a Cutthroat. I don't expect the pacifist Cutthroats to do very well with the other species that have been stocked I have a feeling they won't mesh well with Wipers. I caught that 20 inch Wiper on an ultralight and what a blast, I think they got a real bad attitude and need some therapy. I don't think Cutthroat could deal with that kind of attitude and would constantly be in the Principals office saying those Wipers are picking on me.

May have to make the trip out that way in a year or two. Sounds like you spend a fair amount of time on that pond. A wiper on light tackle is kinda like ocean fishing--fun stuff for sure! Was hoping to get one or two at Willard yesterday but no such luck. But the eyes seem to be on fire so that is some nice consolation. Thanks for the info, keep us posted on that RF reboot.
