It's interesting how many times that little pond has frozen and melted this winter.

It froze up mid December and I fished the hell out of it until the heat rolled in around the 23rd. Thawed in a weeks time. I haven’t been back on it since. Was the ice 4+ inches?
I’ll be on it the weekend for certain. I have found a number of trout lightly bite an aggressively jigged spoon after stirring the sediment off the bottom and pausing the lure just above bottom. Shockingly similar to a sonar for white bass on Utah lake. The other 50 species (maybe more, maybe less) of fish in that lake seem to disappear until march. Thank you for your report. Hope to see some bft members out there this weekend. And I hope the stays hard for a few more weeks

Was the ice 4+ inches?Ice was 4 inches. I watched some guys walk all the way out to one of the islands. Also quite a few people on the ice skating. I noticed lots of shrimp pieces on the ice. Perhaps that is the bait to use. I'll probably be back on Saturday if the ice holds up.
