FALL IS IN THE SOUTHERN UT AIR
#1
Headed up the mountain this past weekend to get some of that crisp fall mountain air in the system...and boy did I! It was a balmy 37 degrees when I arrived to my destination @ 0630, still dark and a little lightness starting to brighten the sky. These conditions are my heaven, and I knew I was in for a great day just based on the weather alone. Barely started kicking out in my toon when I landed my first quality bow. I then proceeded to slay the quality bows until the skies lightened up all the way, then it switched over to quality tigers with an occasional cutt. They loved my hand tied micro-balanced leeches with a #12 black zebra midge dropper under the indicator. Ended up catching a mixed bag around 30 or so, all quality fish from 16"-22". Air temp was around 55 degrees when I headed back down the mountain around 1100. I enjoyed the fall colors all the way down...just the perfect trip. Can't wait to get back up as it will just get prettier and prettier as the low temps do their thing.

Do you have an idea if they took the leeche or the dropper more often

Great report and some nice pics, you got to love those tigers. Did you have any other anglers fishing in the area? Any deer along the shore?

Looks like an awesome day! Curious how you rig a dropper off of balanced leach? That's something I'd like to try more of.

Two ways we do it...you can do the typical tie off the hook of the balanced leech, which will effect its horizontal presentation in the water, but the fish don't seem to care. Or...we tie the midges above the balanced leech off a tag.

No other anglers on that day, and no deer spotted. We are tiger junkies! Smile
