Summer fishing patterns are in full swing here in Coastal East Central Florida, early morning is the time to start fishing at sunrise fish are waking up and ready to bite, as the morning heats up going towards noon, the bite almost always slows. There can be lots of surface activity early, with visual possibilities to sight cast at feeding fish, Seatrout, Jack Crevalle, Ladyfish are commonly the top feeding fish. Other fish may stay deep along the bottom where the sun and heat are not as impactful, Black Drum, Whiting, Mangrove Snapper and many others will usually be deep or on the drop offs. Long time regular client Gene from Ohio out recently caught a few Redfish on the flats with me, some on small lures and some on bait, here with his best one of the morning CPR, catch photo release ………………

One of the most fun catches for visitors to the area are no doubt Sharks, we can have a few different backcountry sharks to bite, here Sharon visiting from Ohio with a fun size Shovelnose Shark …………….
