It is time for a high country lake report

Ya, it would not be a normal summer if I did not post at least one trip to Whitney.

The main road into Whitney was closed early this summer for 3-4 weeks. ( it is open now) for timber management. We went up the old county road out of Coalville. Very senic drive if you have never did it but rough. The video shows some good shots of it.

Wildflowers are amazing. A bit smoky from fires somewhere you can see that in the later drone footage. Fishing was good for stocked bows and tigers. Standard gear. Silver bling and powerbait.

Differnt look in many places as the lumber companies tried to clear a lot of the beatle kill.

Fun little video

Those county access roads are the type I like venturing on crossing streams providing they are not too deep. Beautiful territory to live life for a day and the fishing looks great, beating the heat. Cool I'm surprised Wookie is not on this trip; hope he's doing ok.

He has a really hard time keeping his balance in the truck on rough roads and we knew this one would be rough. We are taking him in the RV soon for 4 days. He should be able to rest and still hang out with us in the mts. But the trend is downhill on his hips but not his spirit.

I've never been to Whitney before but have always wanted to give it a try. I've looked for the road on the Mirror Lake highway side, but I've never driven to far past Mirror Lake. I mostly fish the lakes around the Trial Lake area.

Anyway, that looks like a beautiful drive from the Coalville side. I like the way you two jump around to different lakes and enjoy the videos you post.
