First trip for the new school year with the student angler club. They voted to go chase grayling. A new species for many of them. Ran up to Smith and Morehouse. Fished the inlet and by the dam. Caught a bunch of grayling and rainbows and a couple tigers. All on wet flies. Mostly behind a fly and bubble. Renegade caught the most. Good first run. Pretty fall colors. Found some grouse but I was not packing any heat.
Very short video

Remember: keep the lid on the worms, share your jerky, and stop by to say hi to Cookie and the Cowboy-Pirate crew

My hats off to you for forming the fishing club and getting them all out on fishing trips. I'm sure they all enjoy getting out. It's been a couple of years since I've been to S&M. My friend has a cabin back by the highway where you turn off to go to the lake and has been after me to come up and fish.
The stream the comes out of the lake and runs into the Weber has good memories of a long time ago when my dad and I used to fish the stream together. Your video brings back good memories for me. Thanks.

Always great to get out with young folks that are just learning the art of fishing. Is there a road that goes toward the inlet? or did you walk there from the ramp area? What time of the day did you guys start fishing? Thanks for the report and video Lance.
Road goes all the way around the west side of the lake and to a campground on the stream coming in. 4x4 rd continues past that up a right fork.
