Mackay 12/26
#1
Mackay was a disappointment, got there just before sunrise and drove to the last launch and found open water. At the park launch ramp I found a foot of great ice with a skiff of snow on top and walked out 100 yards to 30’ of water. I stayed there for 3 hours and caught a dozen 8-11” rainbows. There are oodles of small rainbows, every time the school swam past me I would get one from 10’ down to the bottom. Give it a couple more years and it might get good again.

Glad you got into the fish there, too bad they were so small but better than a skunk. Do they have pan fish in Mackay?

Hopefully they put some kokes back in there, it'll be awhile before it's good again

After the draw down I think the only thing in there is Rainbows.

No sense fishing Mackay without Kokes. Sad!
