Soldier Creek 1/25

First thing, thank you Shawn also known as Elayo for joining us and providing the machines to get out on the ice. The roads were pretty sloppy especially on the way up in the morning and it was a little breezy but we all stayed warm in shelters. The catching was decent, the three young men I brought all caught fish 12,9 and 4. Juma and I caught a couple dozen each in our shelter, MWscott caught some in his shelter and Shawn’s boy was knocking them dead in Shawn shelter. I caught them on my favorite white with red flake gizzle tipped with salted chub it was a mixed bag of small rainbows and slot cutts. Thanks for joining us Mike as always good to fish with you. Sorry no pictures this time.

Sounds like a right cozy day icing trout. You spent much time north of the Utah border this ice season?
Remember: keep the lid on the worms, share your jerky, and stop by to say hi to Cookie and the Cowboy-Pirate crew

Not much this season, two days at Henry’s around thanksgiving with slow action, a disappointing day size wise at Mackay and a good day at Chesterfield around Christmas. We are planning on moving up to the Cache Valley this year, so I’m planning on fishing the Preston area lakes quite a bit In coming winters.

Thanks for the invite Shawn. It was a fun day even if I was having trouble enticing the fish onto my lines. You win some and you lose some. Glad the roads weren’t any worse on the way up. It was sketchy in a few spots.

Nice to meet you too Elayo. Mighty kind of you to ferry us out there. Sure beats walking! Let’s do it again…I feel like Josh Allen right now. Poor guy just can’t beat the Chiefs in the playoffs. I need to even the score with those fish at the Berry Wink

Sounds like a great time, glad you were all able to ice some fish. Hopefully I’ll be able to get out with you some time. How was Echo?

Echo was great last Friday, Juma and I  caught a bunch of nice perch and a number of football Rainbows.
