Cookie said it is camping time, so we dusted off the RV and headed out on the long road to Rockport. 15 minutes later we started setting up
.
It was cold. Really cold the first night. Old trailer heater hardly got a rest. First time I have been worried about the water lines and this RV has a heated underbelly. But all faired well.
Lets jump to the report
Started very cold and very slow on the lake. Only a few rainbows the first couple day fishing near the Crandall Canyon inlet. Meps, Superduper's and Jakes as well as a bit of powerbait got some lovn. But over all slow fishing start.
Last day, Cookie tied on the world-famous Tube Dude Marabou jigs and went to work on some really nice bows up near the inlet. She was one happy camper and even suggested she might switch the jigs into top pace on her list over her beloved Jake's lure. That is high praise from Cookie - txs Pat. Black with silver tinsel and a painted eyes did the heavy lifting. Green also got some attention.
Oh, ya. I caught a few too, thanks for asking.
Good first run to the season. Where next: Snake up in Idaho for early Cats, or been thinking about a run to CJ Strike or maybe.... I dont know. Spring break is coming up so I better get a plan together or she will have me in the yard.
Here is the video link - cheers

Remember: keep the lid on the worms, share your jerky, and stop by to say hi to Cookie and the Cowboy-Pirate crew
