Bear river

fished it again today.... fishing was faster but they were all smaller. caught one that went 25inces long it was like 12lbs but all of the rest were little pups. no cats today... missed alot of bites though so maybe there were some little "fiddlers" out there... lots of water, the whole marsh is flooded. the fish total was 18carp in 4 hours. they were biting very light. I also caught a musk rat on a slab of carp meat just before dark( seeing if the cats were awake yet) I have heard of beavers eating bait, even turtles... but a musk rat? it was a good fight though thought i had another 20lber.

Thanks for the report. Where at on the bear were you fishing?

I fished the refuge about 6miles out. about 3 miles before u reach the diversion dam at the end. lots of carp jumping and even up in the shallow canals for all of you bow fishermen.
