Successful Weekend at the Garage Sales
#1
I was out and about on Saturday lurking around for cheap fishing gear. I stumbled across this little old lady whose husband had just died recently and she was heart broken having to look at his fishing gear everytime she went into the garage. So I releived her of the burden by buying 3 of the 4 fishing poles she had. Nice rods and reels One Mitchel, one eagle Claw both medium heavys and one unknown ultra light all for $20, the last rod and reel was bought by a kid right after I left. Aparently their children wanted only the tackle boxes, and she said he had several very large tackle boxes full of (her words) fishing "JUNK". Too bad I'd of liked to get a good look at those. We got there about 11:00 and she said I was the first person to look at the poles.

good find. i used to go out a couple times a month...you sure can find a lot of neat stuff if you put the time in. My best find was an antique wind-up mantel clock. Book value is $300-$800, we could not find exact model in any of our resources. We paid $25 for it!

I've ran across a few things at those ordeals. Nothing special, an OLD reel and what not but some day I figure I'll find a million bucks someone tucked away in some deep dark hole in their fishing box and forgot. LOL![laugh]
