I had a couple of hours to spare yesterday, so my cousin and I decided to go wet a worm down at the Jordan River. We started fishing around 7000 s. Just using a medium sinker and a worm, letting it sit on the bottom. We were getting consistent bites from bullheads, but all just smaller ones( about 8 inches ). I did catch something that was a big surprise to me. I was getting small bites so I picked up my pole to have a feel. He kept nibbling so I set the hook, and all of the sudden my drag started singing. I thought I had I nice channel, but when I seen it surface it looked more like a sucker. As I got it closer I could see the colors, it was a 20 inch rainbow trout. This was a huge surprise to me, I haven't caught a rainbow in the Jordan in years, and I have never caught one that big out of there before. I caught a brown once that was about 15 inches, but that's about the biggest trout I have caught out of there, till now. The total catch for my cousin and I were, Three bullheads for him and one perch, two bullheads and a rainbow for me. Not to bad in a hour in a half.
Has anybody else ever caught a big trout out of the Jordan, and if so what species was it?
