Yuba rainbow question

We have caught more females at yuba than males.They are all full of eggs. So when do they release their eggs for the spawn? And does catching them hurt them in anyway?

It's been my understandin that there is a strain of Rainbow that dose spawn in the fall. Could he have been catching these

I thought I understood that rainbows in the wild (planted or whatever) for some reason usually have poor spawns, and usually can't sustain their own population very well. Is this true?
