Island Park Ice
#1
Island Park Reservoir has iced over and I fished it last Saturday, taking five fish with the largest one a 21 inch rainbow. I did not find any kokanee, but had a wonderful day on the new ice. It is about 5 inches thick by the dam. I was fishing about 15 deep with an ice fly tipped with a meal worm most of the time. The fish were between 12 to 20 feet deep.

I plan on fishing it again Saturday even though we were blessed with two feet of snow up there. Those of you who plan on spending some time in IP during the holidays may want to try it near the dam or up at Trudes Bay if you have a snowmobile.

Island Park Res. is north of Rexburg going towards West Yellowstone. It's about 45 mins from Rexburg on Highway 20.
If you need more specifics contact me and I can give you more info.
Some great fishing to be done on IP Res.
