Fished Rockport today. Got there about 9:00am. Met three guys coming off the ice with their limits. We followed their tracks back to their holes and an hour later my son and I both had our limits. We walked around looking for suspended trout after we were done with the perch, but didn't find any. Great fishing! Should be fun tomorrow.
About 4-6 inches of ice with about 1-2 inches of snow on top. Ice was fine, but there are some open(old) holes under the ice so watch your step tomorrow. A cold boot full of water is no fun at all. [signature]

[black]I may of had a snowmobile out on it but it wasn't great. The edges aren't very good so hit it at a run! It was OK for ATV's and Snowmobiles. Watch for soft spots, especially later in the day after the sun has been radiating on the ice. There were a few spots that it sunk in an inch or so in slush and on 5" of ice that's a 20% reduction in thickness. There was also some places out towards the middle with water on top of the ice.[/black]
The fishing was pretty good for the pesky perchies. I think everyone in our group took home limits of perch. A few trout were also caught. We were in 40'-48' of water, straight out from the boat ramp. [signature]

Thanks for the report Chester. I am taking my 6yr old daughter up tomorrow for hopefully some fast and furious action. Do you mind disclosing the area you fished?

Third bathrooms(the ones with the trees), down the path that goes toward the north, about 1/4 of the way across the lake. Seemed everyone in deeper water was catching perch. Amazing numbers of fish showing on the sonar. Tried closer in to shore, but didn't see much. I may be there tomorrow, haven't decided. Big perch fry tonight sure was good! I may need some more. If I am there, I'll be listening on 12.
Good luck. [signature]
