Porcupine (2nd hand) report
#1
Had a chance to talk to a guy that said he fished the pig on Saturday. He said he iced one bow in about 3 hours of fishing. He said he fished near the dam. He told me the edges were soft for about the 1st 2-3 feet, but the ice on the lake was a good 8". He said there were 2 others out there fishing, and he didn't see them catch anything.

Hopefully the Kokes will make a comeback up there. I've heard different theories as to why they were down, from the low water a couple years ago when they were working on the dam, to beaver dams up in the inlet that prevented the fish from spawning. I personally think they are just in a down cycle, and it should pick back up in a year or two.

Hope this info help.

Thanks for the report, sounds like things were pretty slow up there. Any report on how the roads are?

I asked him if the road had been plowed, and he said it was plowed to the turn off that goes to the outlet of the dam, but it wasn't plowed up the dam, so it sounded like it would be a tough walk up it.
