Saturday floatilla...... Lincoln Beach.

[cool] [#505000]Well not only did I get permission from Tubedude to post the floatilla announcement for this Saturday, I also managed to get permission from the Misses, and the baby sitter to go so......[/#505000]

[#505000]If you can float and you don't have any pressing plans this Saturday Lincoln Beach 0530 launch. Bring a pole, a floating fishing contraption of some sort and be amazed at the Carp_Punisher, and his controversial use of the 4/0 circle hook!! [Tongue][/#505000] [#505000]See the 8th wonder of the world, Carp Snagging with an 1/8 jig head with a curly tail grub, and based on previous trips I may be able to promise a bearded woman, or a dog faced boy!![/#505000]

[#505000]Hell if you can't float come anyway, just come early otherwise you will have to shore fish with the crowds, and the bearded woman.[/#505000] [Wink]

[cool]Dang, Gary, you didn't even post a report on this thread and you still had me laughing it up! It was nice meeting you guys Monday. Wish I could go (until it gets hot, that is) but the mrs. is working a little O.T. Saturday, so I gotta watch the little princess.[crazy] She's only 15 months or I'd bring her along too in some kind of kiddie tube.

Hope you guys slay 'em, and I look forward to your reports!

Wish I could make it. I am travelling until Saturday afternoon. Good luck to all who go out and fish outside of the local conga lines. If any of those locals get in your way feel free to hook em' and drag em'. Wink

I have never been on a "toon" or a tube so I am not quite sure on how to pack all this stuff....I am not sure how much room I will have ect on it, I may have to buy a new net becaue the one I have is HUGE!! and I dont really know what a basket is[blush]

Don't know if this is the type you're looking for but I have a donut tube that I don't use anymore since I bought my Fish Cat 4 that I could sell for very cheap if you want it. It's in perfect condition except for a broken strap on the spray skirt, which I have remedied by using a small elastic tiedown instead.

[#505000]I'm planning on using my toon so I can bring my tube for you to use of you like. I generally pack all the gear I need in 2 or 3 Plano model 3500 boxes. They are only a couple of bucks a piece. The basket is a fish basket. A striger may do the trick for you as long as you are careful to clip all the sharp spines on the fishes before you plop them on the stringer. My tube also has all the rod racks you will likely need on it as well.[/#505000]

Anyone care to car, van, or truck pool down there ?

"We would love to have the 'toons, but are still living in cramped quarters and have not yet got a larger vehicle (pickup) with which to transport them."

DUDE! (May I call you Dude?)We used to be able to fit both of our pontoons in our minivan, disassembled of course (the toons, not the van).

I am paying for putting the pontoon on my roof without some sort of rack, so good call on the trailer or truck. I purchased that jet boat and still have nothing to pull it with, go figure. I am as bass ackwards about things as most, floating devices and no transport. Guess I will have to live with the altima's scratched roof until I can afford to get that SUV and trailer. Still I <3 my toon!

Hey TD,

I was thinking more along the lines of a dough bait. I still have some hunks'o'carp from our excursion down there. I'll bring minnows as well. But, if you could bring a few of those wonderfull creations - like the one you gave me(the little purple jig with the spinner thing that I lost to a submerged sea monster) I would like to try one of those down there. I definately want to get with you sometime and learn to build some of that stuff you've come up with.

I'm still working out which watercraft I am going to bring - tube, toon, or tintub and that will determine which vehicle I use.

If anyone needs a ride, or wants a rider to share gas expense, I'll have room in my truck or van(I live in South Salt Lake) - cast me over a PM and we can hook up for the cheap way down there to "almost Arizona".

Also, if I bring the tintub,it aint fancy but, it's big enough(16 foot) that I'll have room for a couple of folks to fish as well - all I ask is that a person bring their own beverage(bring me one too if it's tasty or homebrew) and some enthusiasm for fishing.

Otherwise, if some one wants to drive and have a passanger to share expenses, I'll just bring the bare minimum(my tube, rod and small box'o'goodies) for Utah Lake.

I just might show up for this it sounds like fun. I will need to check and see if I can get a kitchen pass and find my fins. Looking forward to meeting everyone. And of course bending the rod.

[cool]Hey, I hear ya bro about the have boat but nothing to tow it with. I guess that will change as I move to Layton in a couple of months. Then I can borrow the dad in law's small pickup to tow my little aluminum boat that I bought LAST summer. I think I'll be heading to Willard on a few evenings this summer/early fall with it to make sure it still works!
