Fished Jordanelle rockcliff area from shore today. Started off fishing by the road right where you first come to the lake. Caught 4 smallmouth in about 45 min fishing around all the debris and submerged vegitation. I was using a blue and white jointed rapala. I was staying away from the debris a little with my casting, don't like to lose to many $5 lures. After another 20-30 minutes without any more action I swithched to a brass and glass rigged worm w/weedless hook to get in tighter. Picked up another smallie. Then lost two "weedless" rigs, (better them than the rapala).
After that I decided to hike over to the south side of the rock cliff arm.
That was a waste of time... After bushwacking through chest high sage and getting attacked by a nesting pair of Osprey I found a nice spot under a tree where I could sit and watch my pole while I drowned some worms. If you where anywhere within 5 feet of the bottom Chubs... and more chubs. I couldn't have a bait in the water for more than 30 seconds without catching a chub. I got nothing using a bobber except an occasional chub. and no luck for the smallies with watever I threw at em.
So the days total was 5 smallies 14-18" and about 30 chubs. Anyone ever try eating a chub? I probably should have brought them home for the garden.
Oh, bye the way the Ospreys tried to kill me on the way out too. But it was a pretty good morning. There are some nice sized bass in there.
