I took a friend of mine out for a couple hours to SSBH from about 8 til 10 pm. We fished from the north dyke. There was a constant 5- 10 mph breeze and that kept the bugs down until sunset then the breeze stoppd and midges went crazy. At any rate I only caught 1 mudder on carp (nice size for a mudder) and tasted especially good as my buddy and I munched it down when we got home. I wasn't going to keep him but he deep throated the hook and died when I pulled it out no croaking no flapping just a quick clean job. The mudders really seem a lot healthier than in years past quite a bit more beefy.
Here's the part though two guys right next us that showed up just before us were bringing fish left and right. In the pile o' fish were 2 whites that they cut up for bait 2 walleyes (pretty small 12 - 14 inches) and 4 ugly male channels (They sure get banged up this time of year). And 1 pretty decent size mudder. . . Pretty good night for other people not too bad for me either as I was out FISHIN'!!!
