I too would like to know how the fishing is at Willard but I'm thinking a lot of guys have been hunting lately. I hope someone can give us a report though. WH2

[black]I haven't been out there latedly but I was talking to SpiderWelder yesterday. He said that he went out a couple nights ago for about 3 hours. The first two hours were unproductive trolling standard lippless crank baits and other stuff. Then, the last hour he put on a deep diver black back (in my mind, it sounded like a Rapala) and picked up I think he said 5 in the last hour on the Southern half of the lake.[/black]

Thanks Old_Coot for relaying the report. I have been spending all my fishing days at the BL lately but as poor as that has been for me, I think I should be fishing at Willard instead. The last couple of times I was at Willard we caught the fish deep and that south side has been producing since summer.

My dad and i went out last night and it was pretty slow
we launched from the north marina and went towards the feed lot had a couple of hits on the way over but nothing to really get excited about. when we reached the south side we noticed how dirty the water seemed so we trolled back towards the north and picked up two nice ones as soon as we hit the little island outside the marina we stayed around there for a bit then it go too dark so we just went in ..
The fish are still biting but it was slow.. came home with three.

Thanks for posting your report Dave, how fast were you trolling? Did you get close enough to the South marina to see if it is open? I hope they are done dredging. Thanks for the info. WH2

we were trolling pretty slow about 1.5 to about 2miles per hour.. our lures were going about 9 to 10 feet ( I could tell because we would hit bottom at the depth)

I was thinking the slower speeds might be the way to go because of the cooler water temps. It sounds like the wipers are still hanging deep. Thanks again for the info. WH2
