Hey all,
Well, I've reached a point in my life where I think I'm ready to start getting a little more serious about bass fishing.
I already go fishing on my own every single weekend of the year, either with a buddy, aquantance, cousin, family, or just by myself. I've accumulated a bunch of equipment, rods, reels, tackle, lures, boats, motors, etc. etc. and feel like I'm at least a "competent" fisherman. (I didn't say pro, and yes I still go out and get skunked occasionally, like last weekend at Willard during the storm...)
I currently have a family boat (not fishing-friendly, in fact fish are not allowed on that boat) as well as a 14 foot aluminum that I've get rigged out for all kinds of fishing.
I don't really have an extra $300 to $400 a month laying around, nor do I have the time to dedicate 3 to 4 weekdays a month in the "big" utah bass clubs.
I would be totally interested in hooking up with someone looking for a permanent or semi permanent tournament partner who has a boat (I don't think my 14 footer will cut it...) to do the amateur tournaments. I can split costs, etc, and am available every Saturday and can get a few days off here and there if needs be, as well as leaving the night before to make it to a tourney location. I have been around boats for 20 years and have owned a dozen. In other words, I'm not looking for a free ride, because I know what it costs to keep a boat going, and I will treat a fellow boaters boat as my own. I'm not 100% in at this point until I find out more information...maybe I'm not as ready as I think financially and timewise, but I definately want to test the waters to see if I'm there.
I would appreciate any links to the local bass clubs that I could solicit myself as a non-boater until I get my own.
Thanks!
Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post.
