I've been toying with the idea of giving Mantua a shot,, who's going to be there in the morning? I've never fished there, but I think I've drove by it a few times, where's a good place to access that pond?

[cool][#0000ff]Wish I could join ya, but I got ta get TubeBabe outta town tomorrow.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Here's a map.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]As you follow the highway up from Brigham City, toward Logan, there will be two turnoffs for Mantua. The first one winds around through town. The second one goes east to the perimeter road around the lake. Turn right at the stop and drive south a mile until you see the parking area and restrooms on the left. You can drive up over the levee to the ramp, on the right, to unload your gear, but you need to park in the lot.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Hike straight out toward the knoll on the other side of the lake. Look for other successful anglers. If nothing is going on close (point A), keep going out to the middle. The water depth will be 20 - 22 feet. There has been reasonably good perch action out there.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]If you want the best bluegill and bass action, you will have to fish around the far east side, (point C). Not sure what the parking is over there now, but there is a locked gate(no vehicles) you have to work your way through and a shorter hike if you can park near the creek inlet. Otherwise, it is a long hike across the lake, but often worth it.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I'm sure others will chime in.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]Lead the way? Oh, I get it. I am probably heavier than you (not too many people are).[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Last word I had was that the bluegill and largies are in water from 5 to 10 feet deep, sometimes deeper. Bigger perch are usually out deeper.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Good Luck. We gotta coordinate calendars soon and get somethin' goin'. I will be kinda tied up (kinky) until the last of the month. Then watch out. 39 ponds and 33 species on my target list this year.[/#0000ff]

Don I will be there tomorrow (R U following me around or am I following you?). I have never ice fished it before but we are going to give it a go. If you see two men and a boy of about 9 out on the ice it will probably be us.

Thats a fact my friend, I'm no feather weight either, and why I'd rather you lead. I'll hang on to the rope, promise! [laugh]

Don, what time do you plan on being there? All this ice-fishing talk I'm hearing makes me want to ditch the ongoing basement project and wet my line!
