The following takes place between 11am and 5 pm... I fished Soldier Creek Monday. Couldn't find any company so I headed up by myself. Parked by the Dam turnoff on the hwy. I gave a father and son a lift on the 4 wheeler to the spot Jedburton and I fished last Monday. Karma worked out well for me. On the first pull on my power auger, the rope broke. So I used their auger. I stayed in the same hole all day, from 11am to dark. Not too many fish on the Vexilar the first 2 hours. But around 1pm they came around and stayed. I iced around 60 trout from 1 to dark. I would have stayed longer but had to get home to see 24... They were hitting a storm plastic minnow tipped with fathead minnows. They were very aggressive, at times not letting my offering get halfway down before hitting it. When they slowed down a little, viewing my vexilar helped me figure out a new presentation that they liked. I was in 24ft. Some hits came on the bottom some half way up. It was a blast watching them follow my bait up and hitting it. Sometimes they wanted it still, and other times they wanted to chase it. It definitely was a blast. I would guess that I tripled my success with the vexilar. I landed one 23" cutt, a 13" cutt, a 15" bow, and a crayfish. I lost a huge cutt at the hole, (bigger than my 23") the rest were about the same size, 18-20"...Hopefully I will have some company next time I head out.

Randy, it sounds like trading that AquaVue for a Vexilar was the right move for you. Would love to join you if you ever get a Saturday off, or perhaps we could make it an afternoon trip on a Monday (so that I could work 1/2 of the day first).

Cool! Sounds like it was probably tempting to do your own version of "24" when they're biting like that!

I was on the east side. If you know where the Snowmobile trail is farthest to the south, I was about 1/2 mile south of that.

sounds like I should have skipped work and came out with you. I didn't sell a whole lot and the weather out there was beautifull. Oh well I will have to see who wants to go out on friday since I traded days off,
