Any UL reports?

Has anyone braver than me been out to Utah lake this week. Lincoln Beach seemed like it was just about to turn on and then we got this snow and low temps. I don't know if the water will hold it's temp or drop.

[cool][#0000ff]My guess is that the fish are doing better than the fishermen. Once the water temps climb to about 45, the eggs finish ripening and are ready to drop. Storms and wind drive off the fishermen but that is what open lake spawning walleye like. If they can't go upstream to spawn in a tributary they look for wave washed rocky shoreline. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I'm betting that if anybody braved the sloppy water at night right now, they would see some splashing walleye "marriages" taking place.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]That's fine with me. I don't care about catching them during their maternity run. I want them to get it over with so they can start actively feeding again, during the post spawn period. Within 30 days that should be well underway.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]Just guessing. I am sure the main event is still a week or so away. In years past I have seen them rolling as early as the first week of March, but this year has been wierd. I'll believe 'em when I see 'em.[/#0000ff]

I just got back from the American Fork Harbor. We fish all around the harbor from the shore for about 3 hours after work this morning. Not a single bite? Tried a variety of jigs and a few rattletraps and also dunked bait for a cat or even a carp? A few people around there said the fishing had been slow, probably no help. Just go i'm sure you all would do alot better[Wink]
