Fish stocking this weekend
#1
Last night on the news there was a story about the additional fish this year for the urban fisheries. They also mentioned that this weekend they would be planting thousands of rainbow trout in some of those 'urban ponds'.

Is anyone planning on heading out to one of the local Urban Fisheries? I might head out to Salem pond and take my almost-2 yr old son with me. Last year he loved seeing the "Fishies" I caught there in the summer (green sunfish). We'll see if the weather and schedule permits. You can view info. on all the state urban fisheries here if you'd like more information.

I'm nearly positive that Salem has already been planted with a good number of fish recently. I've been there two different times over the last week with my kids, fishing off the east side north of the bridge with power bait. We never went one minute with out a bite on someones pole. Tuesday we even caught two skinny tiger trout which was a surprise. Over the last month we've caught sun fish, catfish, rainbows, largemouth (very small), and the two tiger trout. Not a bad little spot for an after work outing with the kids (night time for the catfish). Anyway, there are definitly plenty of planted rainbows to be caught.

I'm planning on hitting Willow Pond at 7AM tomorrow morning, and probably again on saturday and sunday, too. If any of y'all are going to be there, I'll be driving my lifted silver F250, and I'll be fishing somewhere with my beat up old vest on. Stop and say howdy!

Hey thanks for the info. I was thinking of trying that end of the pond. I've only fished the west side before.
