Sunday hunting
#1
I read an arcticle in the Hartford Courant that sunday hunting was brought up in the legislation and it didn't have a chance of passing. To many peaple want the woods to them selfs during hunting season. Private land may get permission to hunt at a later date, with bow only. They say we have all this time to go out in the field to get our deer. I guess they forgot about the peaple that work 5-6 days a week. Like I do. Kind of limits our time in the woods.

I think it would be wonderful if we were given the oppertunity. Unfortunately, I don't believe that it would be a good idea to limit it to just archery deer. In fact, I believe that there is a disproportionate number of deer taken by archery as it is, especially when I see the reports of all sorts of people maxing out the archery tags (which give more deer than shotgun tags). Also, archery gives more time as it is, with the January season that they instituted.

I hear that.

and that not to mention the guys who are not working who need to wait till the guys who are working to get some time off so they can hitch a ride to the woods....[crazy]

we used to have a ban on sunday hunting here in michigan in some counties. Like I said used to....

the original bill had both rifle and archery, they pulled the rifle because they though it would have a better chance on passing,if it did, then we have hunting on sundays, then they could go with a new bill to get rifle in.if the archery bill passed we would have our foot in the door, and gone from there

Now I read yesterday that it passed one branch and headed for another. We may see archery on sundays yet. I'm not getting the cigars out just yet.
