Like Tubn2, I also have many different brand's of rods. But, I tend to favor my Ugly Stix's when I need a light to medium action rod.
I use Penn Mariner Stand Up rods for my offshore applications.

M favorit is south bends noodle rods, though I have tryed many other brands, I do have a okuma in the boat, but its not near the rod the southbends are, i have handled some brands that never felt good so I never wasted the money on them, dont have much a choice in this area, less you want deep sea gear for the small salmon we get lol ive tryed st,croix and loomis and i find the south bend to be as good or better and the south bend is only 50 bucks and holds up to the pressure full time fishing throughs at them, hope this helps you.

Right now my wife and I are using Daiwa rods and reels. As i progress farther into fishing I will probably have an assortment like I used to.
In the past I have used Quantum reels, an Ugly Stick, Shakespear rods and reels.

on my boat we use shakespeares, mitchells, and i have one south bend rod. all work well. my brothers argue between sage and st. croix for fly fishing... but from what ive seen, my dad can whoop either of them with his old browning!

[cool]What rods do I use? Berkeley, Ugly Stick, Shimano, South Bend, All Star, Quantum. Penn, Bass Pro Shops, Cabela's, Browning and quite a few generic beauties scored at yard sales for bargain prices. Which one do I favor? Well, that's like asking a parent of multiple children which one he likes the most--they'll say they love them equally. And I have just as much success with the cheap rods as the more expensive ones. And my rods run the gamut--from "bubba" style pool stick to 9 ft. lightweight steelhead rods. I just pick the appropriate rod for the type of fishing--"bubba" for yanking bass out of weed jungles, and the the steelhead "noodle" rod for casting "match-the-hatch" jigs to feisty rainbows. In other words, I'm not a "brand geek." Just give me the right rod for the situation and I'm ready to roll.
