Recipe for catfish dough?
#1
I know that some of you catfish fisher-persons have to have a recipe for dough and scents used for bait. I would like to make my own, and maybe if it works out good for me I will make it and sell it in my shop.

I am always looking for the home made stuff for my shop. I find my customers tend to by the home made stuff rather than the manufactured. I am attaching a pic of my shop so you can see what I mean by stuff, cause it is small and a work in progress. Gives me something to do in my retirement.

So if you have a good recipe please let me know , If you do not want to let everyone know just PM me. Thanks J.R.

We always use homemade dough bait. This simple recipe seems to catch more catfish [blue][, codfish, cutback, codifies, codpiece, codification, codifications] [/blue]than anything else during the hot periods.

*Go to your local feed store and buy some cattle cubes.
*Put the cubes in a 5 gallon bucket or something of that size with a lid (we use our left over pool chlorine tab tubs which are perfect!)
*Cover the cubes with water. Fill it to the point where there is about an inch of water above the line of cubes.
*Put the lid on and let it sit for a week or two.
The cubes will absorb the water and sour. You can check on the absorbsion [blue][, absorption, absorbency, absorptions, absorbing, absorptive, absorbent] [/blue]rate and add water as needed. Once this mess has soured, you can roll it into balls for your hooks. Add flour if it is not pliable [blue][, playable, pliable, playful, playfully, playfulness] [/blue]enough!

I hope this works for you like [blue][like] [/blue]it does for my husband and I!

Thanks for the recipe I will give it a try. Right now the old crawlers are working. But the water up here is getting wormer.
