First post and I'm checking in. Hailing out of S Central WI. On the Madison area lakes, lake wisconsin.

15 years or so back I ended up in the Big Brothers program. Did a lot of fishing for the next 3 years of so with my Big Brother in a little 14 ft open alumacraft. He really must have known his stuff because we always ended up cleaning fish till midnight [sly]

Got 3 good years of fishing in and then my family moved away. It's probably been 10-12 years since I picked up a pole. Fishing from the shore just wasn't the same for me. Ended up loosing interest in it.

So after not fishing for a decade I went out and bought myself a little boat. LoL. Now I haven't seen my tackle box in at least 3 years and I'll be lucky if I remember a fraction of what he taught me. Even so, I'd like to get back out on the water finally and do some fishing again!

Welcome to BFT! I know when i first found this sight i had a hard time navigating it initially due to it's size and the amount of information available.
I have spent many hours reading tons of good stuff... I'm guessing here, but i picked up many years worth of "experience" just by reading and then goin out and applying what i read...Great stuff!

Welcome to BFT! This is one awesome place. Full of friendly (and sometimes frightening) faces. Full of great stories! And once in a long while a photo to back up the story. [Wink]

Don't forget to help out the Wisconsin and Minnesota boards with your great stories, tips, and hot spots!! Glad to hear you got a boat. I have one too but don't use it... yet. Still making it water worthy. LOL. Shore fishing works for me! But I never pass up a chance to fish out of a boat.

Again, welcome to BFT!

[Wink] Welcome to BFT and the Wisconsin board. I have been a mod for a short time on the Wisconsin board, and will help get you and yours back in to the swing of things. Will be looking forward to some reports from the Madison area. Have been in Mad-town many times, but never got a chance to wet a line. Please feel Free to ask all the questions you like I'm sure they can be answered by me or some of the other fisher-persons. again welcome

I will be running a inland trout fishing contest starting June 1st to June 30th. Pop in on the board and look it over. I am hoping to get some stuff from BFT to give as prises. I do have two sets of 12 hand tied files in a plastic box, from my own shop. They are a $25.00 value. I will be giving them as prizes.
