[black]I have a custom St Croix rod that has a damaged reel seat. I would like to remove and replace the existing cheap reel seat with a good Fuji reel seat. I have heard you can boil the rod handle to breakdown the epoxy that is used to adhere the reel seat and cork to the blank. This supposedly will not damage the cork and it can be used again. Is this correct and are there other ways to disassembly the cork and reel seat and save expensive cork? What do you use to clean the old epoxy from the blank? Thanks for any tips or info.[/black]
