Agreed, I gave up chasing free phesants about 2 years ago. Even with dogs it got to where all we did was walk, we were getting 1 or 2 birds a year from my entire group. Now we all get together and chip in some cash, go out to a phesant farm and have one good fun day and actually do a little shooting. It beats walking all day and just watching the dog.

I have as well given up on pheasants in Utah. Hunters everywhere, mostly private ground, I think I will go fishing or rabbit hunting instead.
Good luck to everyone else! [signature]

I guess its unanimous we all agree about the walking for not and the private lands.I will give it a try a couple of times this year and see if i get lucky. Otherwise gonna look into some farms.[]

I walked 2 fields today and saw 0 birds. That is my pheasant hunt for the year. I'll go shoot ducks instead.

Pheasants are better eating, but ducks are easier to find and hunt. Plus you can shoot more.[]
I almost forgot about the snow goose pics, i will do them later today after the funeral. [signature]

Pheasant hunting in this state is like the dinosaurs. It is a thing of the past. I still spend a little time in the Malad area. Less subdivisons and a few birds. I have managed to find 4 roosters so far this fall. gshorthair

Those pheasants are funny birds, as I was going to work this afternoon I saw three of them on the side of the road. This was in South Ogden at a busy intersection, it looked like they were trying to cross the road and they weren't flying.

I went out Saturday and decided to only shoot birds the dogs pointed. I have a 5 month and a 6 year old german shorthairs and they managed to find a few birds, but only one was a rooster.

Good looking dogs, the younger one remindes me of a German Wirehair/shorthair mix I had a couple of years ago.
