I just wanted to let all of you willard bay fanatics know the South Marina is officially closed for the season. Also, if you are looking for something to do and see over the holidays come up and enjoy the "fantasy at the bay" light show. There is a gentleman who decorates Cottonwood campground with animated and stationary lights. The cost is only $5.00/ car and you can go around as much as possible. It is a great activity for the whole family. I know some of you may ask so I will tell you that your season pass doesn't get you in. Well, if I don't see any of you this winter have fun ice fishing.

Good to know. That drive thru Christmas light show is fun. We took the kids last year and had a really nice time. Well worth the drive out there.

[cool][#0000ff]Thanks for posting the info. I'm sure a few of us diehards will still be flailing the water before it turns hard. I plan to do a cold water shot soon, for crappies and/or wipers/walleyes. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Question: Once the south marina is closed does that mean that you can't walk in...to tube it, bank it or ice fish it?[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]Hey, my mama drowned all the runts and dumb ones. I don't carry all that stuff that far. I do backpack, but only a much lighter load or for much shorter distances.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Did you ever hear of golf carts? They make great tube transport systems for trudging your gear more than a few yards to a honey hole.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]There is some great fishing in the south marina just before iceup and right after iceout. Even better when you don't have to dodge the power squadron.[/#0000ff]

Yes, you can walk in but just don't block the gate in case we had to get in there for an emergency. Also, so you know we go snowmobiling up at Monte Cristo.
