Arrived at the Soldier creek boat ramp after 4 wheeling it to the ramp, to find a foot of snow on the ramp. 1 degree above zero at 8:30. Chained up to launch the boat. We were the only boat on the water except 2 guys that had been snowed in since Sat. They couldn't get out till the ramp was plowed. She was sure cold. Fishing wasn't as good as a couple weeks before but we went up to trap minnows. Did catch a lot of slot cuts and 2 nice bows. The yellow plane that turned over by the Strawberry lodge flew over us several times really low. I was surprised to see it on the news last night. Ice up in the bays. Caught fish casting jigs to the ice edge. The last time up there in a boat this year. Hard water on the berry next time. Seems really weird to think of those folks drowning up there. Really Sad.

[pirate]Thanks for the report. It's gonna be a bit weird ice fishing it this year when so recently there's been this search for the bodies and everything. So you saw some ice in the bays, eh? That's Sad for the search efforts (as they will have to come to a close pretty soon then, only a few weeks left til the whole lake has at least a thin sheet of ice on it). The good news is that in a few select locations, there will be ice fishing to be had in about 2 or 3 weeks from now...[cool]

I can wait for ice fishing. It will be here soon enough. The good thing is 2 poles.
