WECT TV is reporting that least five people have died in the Riegelwood area and New Hanover Regional Medical Center reports four children and two adults are injured, some critically.
Dogs are now searching the area for missing people in that area, the station reports.
Mobile homes in the area are completely destroyed and many removed from their foundations.
A new tornado warning has been issued for central Bladen and central Columbus counties.
