Invite to go ice fishing this Saturday
#1
Billy and I will be ice fishing somewhere this Saturday December 2nd. We will likely decide Friday night where we will be fishing. Tentative plans are to leave the SLC area around 5:00 AM and be gone all day. I don't like to see an empty seat in the Suburban if someone would like to go fishing. If interested in joining us send me a PM.

Kent et. al.,
I will be checking ice conditions on Birch Creek Reservoir and Woodruff Creek Reservoir this afternoon and report back. I think both of these waters should be good for ice fishing and you could fish both in the same day since they are only a few miles apart.
You may consider them.

I'm thinking of leaving work early and running by Smith and Moorehouse. I'll let you know what I find if I make it up.

Thanks, but I don't own a snowmobile, which I am sure would be a necessity to fish Smith and Moorehouse.

Kent -
I might be able to throw it together and give you some $ for gas if this new cold I'm getting doesn't kick my a&&.
Keep in touch.

I wish I could go, I really, really do, but Saturday is all overtime and Sunday is double bubble. I may lay out a day during the week so send me PM and let me know how you did. I'll try to hook the fish instead of my leg...

Kent,
Your right, need a snowmobile to get in. Usually you can get a 4X4 in there early, but there was one big drift just as you started up into the trees that I didn't feel like chancing concidering I was alone.
Where are you thinking about going? I'm thinking about heading out, but don't really want to go as far as huntington.

We are heading to Woodruff Creek and Birch Creek. We haven't been to either one of them and if anyone is willing to share any general areas that we should fish please send me a PM.

Kent,

I would be careful on Birch Creek. It was warmer here this morning and warmer last night. Still below freezing, but there is no way I would venture out on "1.5-2" inches of ice.

It was -11 and -14 and my house earlier in the week but as I said, it hasn't been as cold and I doubt the ice conditions would have improved from BLFG's report.

Kent,
Looks like my friday trip is off. I'd like to head up to woodruff with you tomorrow morning; only one snag, fishhound wants to go. Do you have room for 2? If not I have no problem driving and just hooking up with you. BLM,
You mentioned you were heading that way tomorrow; what is your plan? Watever happens I need directions from the town of woodruff to the resevoir. I found directions of Mapquest to woodruff thru evanston, but I'm lost from there.
Anyone else,
If there are more people that want to go in the morning, let me know and I can take my truck for sure. I've got a 4 door pickup with plenty of room for four adults.

Here are the direction: Coming from Woodruff, go west on the Monte highway I would say 5 or 6 miles. When you get to the first cattle guard take the first left (South) [#ff0000]after[/#ff0000] the cattle guard (South)

Travel this road until you make it to the resevoir (2miles or so).
