Nuggs, myself and my son went to Huntington on monday for a little tiger action. It started off on a bad note with taking the LONG way. Almost 4 hours.
We got there and set up the new Quickfish III and the vexilar. Nothing. Fished for 2 hours with 2 hits. We finally moved more toward the dam and the center of the lake and started catching fish. We used small chartreuse ice flies and night crawler below a sweedish pimple. They would not hit it unless you jigged it hard and stopped. We ended up catching about 30 with the smallest about 6" and the biggest was 15 1/2". All in all a good day and very warm. Alot of slush the farther you go so take some good boots. The ice was about 6" with a layer of water and slush on top.
BTW: If anyone has an archery elk tag, there was a good herd not too far up the canyon. I think they are in the extended area.
