Fished Woodruff today(dec. 8th} ice was plenty thick at 7",it did thaw alittle around edges but didnt break through leaving. 3 of us fished for about 5 hrs caught 16 cutts. fished in 30ft of water in the morning fish where suspended anywhere from 5 to 15 ft, later on they went to the bottom.Fishing was sporadic catch2 or 3 then slow down for 45 min. We had the best luck useing flasher with rat finkee tipped with worm.. GL fishing all, the season has begun

I hadnt been to Woodruff in a couple of yrs was pleasantly surprised. The fish varied from14" to the largest of 20", but on the ave. about 16 or 17. Very healthy looking cutts.

Sounds like a pretty good day at Woodruff. I'm surprised at the size of fish you caught. Usually the fish up there are on the smaller side. Nice work.

That is great news Ateve. It has been a number of years since I have fished Woodruff but that was the case then also, some nice fish but fewer in number than the ones we caught at Birch creek. This was during the summer and I was trolling at both lakes but it sounds like the bigger cutts have returned. Thanks for the info. WH2
