Tube tacklebox?
#1
I've got an old canvas tube cover that uses a truck innertube... I know... I said it was old..

Anyway, I had to re-sew all of the seams since the old thread gave out long ago. I bought a new innertube and the thing is ready to go again... as soon as I get some new paddlepushers.

Except that it has a simple zip pocket to hold tackle or a soda, but not both.

I need a suggestion or a source for a strap-on tacklebox for my old tube. HELP!!!

get a waterproof bag and keep your tackle in it tie it to the tube or get 2 and use one for tackle one for food/drinks

Velcro straps and bungees work wonders in todays world. Another alternative is to use Parachute cord. You will need to figure out some means of quick disconnect so that you can strap and unstrap the parachute cord. Carabinere clips work well for that.

I would suggest strapping some kind of foam block with the velcro attatched to it. Make sure you hollow out a radius on the foam to fit the shape of the tube. You can then attach flat boxes on top of that or strap a soft bag that you can fit your tackle into.

I still have my old tube that is just like the one that you described. It comes in handy to plug in an ice chest and use it as a tag-a-long tube.[cool]

Get a fly fishing vest or chest pouch. Great place to keep alot of the stuff you use frequently like pliers, favorite lures, clippers, etc.
I know ODC makes several bags but they ain't cheap.

Here's a site with some other accessories.

Another thought would be to take a tote like this one

And with some creative work with bungees or velcro straps you could secure it on the tube.

Edited to add:
I just saw you said you sewed the seams yourself. If you're that handy with a thread 'n needle you might even consider sewing a pouch, bag, or soft tackle bag of some kind onto the bag. Get creative :-)
