Last trout plant
#1
Everyone,

If you like fishing the trout plants at the B-4 & B-5 areas I have been told that this Friday March 23 will be the last drop for the season. The water is quickly approaching the 60 degree mark. The trout can't survive in water above that. The big winter monsters will soon move out to the unknown deep waters and hide out all summer and then return next fall when the water cools down. Now it is time to get the jigging spoons and the bait rods ready. Good Luck to all.

Thanks for the heads up. Do you happen to know if they do any trout plants in the Temple Basin, i.e., near the Temple Bar Marina? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Paul

Sorry none that I know of. They would not use any trout from the southern hatchery because of the invasion of the quagga mussels. They limited the drops to clark county only.

Sad to see all the trout go [unsure]

Any idea when the shad spawning season starts though? [cool] Its been a while since I've caught the limit.

I think they start around the middle of april. I think that is when is started last year. I do not know about any limits on them. But you need to get out early!
