[red]These are just a few pictures of what i made @ work the past few days. I went to school to learn how to run a c.n.c. waterjet . The head of the jet puts out 75.000 lbs of P.S.I.. It will cut almost anything. We also cut a lot of picture frames of wildlife . . The pictures below are of wall and floor medallions that we ship all over the world. We also do a lot of personal cuttings . So if you have any special cutting needs let me know ok. [black]What material are you cutting?[/black]
I have seen some pieces done by local machine shops in the Salt Lake area, where they have made intricate detailed animal silhouettes, cut into metal belt buckles.

It is truly amazing how this technology has taken the place of mechanical machining. I have watched some TV programs (American hotrod, Orange county choppers, etc.), where they have cut parts, and find it fascinating what can be done.

That is nice work, and I would guess it's quite expensive for wall and floor decoration.

We cut a lot of slate and marble. But we also cut metal. We have made everything from plastic mud flaps to manifolds to wall and floor medallions to the things you have talked about. And we have the same setup as the shows you have talked about . If you would like to come by the shop and watch this machine cut your more than welcome to drop by and i'll give you a tour of our place . You will be blown away at what this can do . Just drop me a P.M. And let me know tht you want to come by.

The picture below is just one of the frames that we make. The top part is from 1 slate and the bottom 1 is from another . That way is gives it a more unique look to it.

How long do the jet tips last before they get to big/worn out and do you add anything to the water for better cutting?

the tips last quite a while and are the dia. of safety pin or smaller. And garnet is used to aid the cutting. But we do cut other material with water only. The water and garnet come out of the tip at a speed of mach 3. In a few weeks when i switch cell phone services i 'am going to cut my cell phone into with the waterjet. needless to say there is not much this thing wont cut.
