Motorguide Lazer II/ no steering?

[size 1]I just bought a Motorguide remote bow mount and all functions are working except the turning left and right. I can hear a motor running inside the head but the lower unit is not turning. Anybody worked on these or know what to try? [/size]

If the drive motor is running when you hit the pedal it sounds like you have either a worn pinion gear or column gear in the head of the unit.
