My ODC 420 Texas Style!
#1
Hello fellow tubers! Again, I would like to say thanks for this great website. You guys and gals have given me so many cool ideas that I have tried to incorporate into my design.

As you can tell I went with the Creek Company ODC 420. I liked the storage capacity, the warranty, the color, & the maximum weight capacity when compared to some of the others I looked at.

As a bass fisherman having a good supply of rod and reels is a must to adequately fish a wide variety of cover that we see in Texas. Also, a bass fisherman must be able to carry most of a Bass Pro Shops with him on every trip. [Wink]

I can safely carry 6 rods and reels using the rod holder that I designed based on ideas from this website. I incorporated the rod holder into a PVC box which I used to hold my Falcon tackle boxes. I experimented with many different ideas to keep the water out of the tackle boxes, but settled on using 2 Bass Pro Shops PVC Black Weigh Bags. I folded these bags in such a way where I could used the handle to wrap around the PVC appendages of my tube to keep them in place. These bags successfully keep my tackle boxes bone dry.

I made a PVC pipe battery bank for 1.5V AA rechargeable batteries to power my Eagle color graph. The transducer cable is stored in a Ziploc quart plastic jar with lid that I painted black and used velcro material to attach it to the frame of my tackle box PVC holder. I also use the Creek Co. back pack straps attached the the D-rings on the bottom of my tube to get my rig closest to the body of water that I fish.

I have really enjoyed tubing except the one time I had my hamstring lock up on me when I was kicking across the pond! You talk about major pain!!!! I thought I was going to die! LOL I hope you folks like my tube; I love it!!!

Nice setup Trane. It looks like you have benefited from much of the advice and ideas from this board. I see you also possess some creative skills of your own too.

Now, just get some fish and we will call it a complete setup.[cool]

Nice! Now I have tube envy Smile Going to have to post some pictures of all of the Texas Bass that you chase down with that ride.

Would love to get my 420 geared out like that for chasing green carp (I can see Fishheiser's head spinning now getting ideas like that)....But lately all of the fairy wand tubers have been jinxing all of my bass spots and turning them all into bluegill havens.

Wow Trane nice setup. Dusty is right you need to post some pics of the Texas size bass you catch out of your tube. Just wondering what kind of reels you have. You seem to like them and I might be in the market for a new reel.

The bait casting reels are all Shimano Curado SF and the spinning reel is a Shimano Sanora. I do like them a lot! I also use Falcon rods. I use the Cara addition for casting and the Original series for my spinning reel.

Thanks for all of the compliments. Again, I couldn't have done this stuff without all the nice pictures and sharing of info that this group does![Smile]

That looks very nice. Way to go. I would say you can also shorten up your transducer as it only need to be in the water an inch or two.

Hey AT! I have an idea for one of those side bags. I could make a Pencil holder out of one for the little Slimer Pencils.[cool]
