Florida Anglers Host "˜Cruise 'N C.A.S.T' For Disabled Kids
The Island Anglers of Venice will host "Cruise 'N CAST for Kids" on Aug. 18. More than 40 di
vantaged and disabled kids from the community will take part in the festivities on Venice Pier, in Venice, Florida.
The C.A.S.T. (Catch A Special Thrill) for Kids Foundation fishing clinic will take place on the pier, a 720-foot pier designed specifically with the handicapped accessibility, with the car show just north at the cities new paved parking lot and pavilion.
All proceeds from the "Classics Cars of the Past" competition show will go to giving each child a rod-and-reel, tackle box, T-shirt, hat, commemorative plaque, breakfast and lunch.
Registration for the car show opens at 8:30 a.m. at the parking lot north of Sharky's on the Pier, South Harbor Drive, Venice. Early registration is $15 and will include lunch and a drink. Day of show registration is $20.
There will be a raffle and a 50/50 jackpot, trophies and gift certificates for the winners.
