BIG FULL MOON: This week's full Moon (Oct. 25-26) is the biggest full Moon of 2007. It's no illusion. Some full Moons are genuinely larger than others and Thursday night's will be as much as 14% wider and 30% brighter than lesser full Moons we've seen earlier this year. Check http://spaceweather.com for the reasons why.

think it might help the bite?

if nothing else and the sky is clear, it will give ya an extra hour or two of tracking a tagged deer...

I'm sure it will help the hunting out. Even a mere 15 minutes can make the difference of finding a hit deer and having to wait until morning (and hoping like hell it doesn't rain)

Not sure about the fish bite. Only thing my grandpa ever said was "wind from the west fishing is the best, wind from the east fishing is the least" seemed to hold pretty true for the walleye's on Ausable river.

I've also heard that the barametric pressure effects the bite while fishing. I've never really paid much attention to it so couldn't tell you if it does or not. Pressure up fishing up? or is it pressure down fishing up? I have no clue.

I have found some waters like different winds for producing fish, I heard that same quote from my gramps and for the most part I found it to be true, except, on the detroit river, the north east winds produce the best eyes and a few local lakes around me like to produce better on easternly winds... weird, sure makes learning a lake difficult, I think it has to do with strucure on the lake, it is weird to say the least..

I found when fishing for carp, suckers, cats it dont matter what the wind is..

as for the preasure I have heard different guys like differnent preasures,, meaning some like it on top because they say when it starts dropping the fish will start hitting, Other guys I herd tell they like it on the bottom because when it starts to rise the fish will start hitting and you have to be there before it starts moving to get the full benifit of the change, Other guys say the preasure just has to be moving, dosnt matter going up or down just so long as it is moving...

on that note, I have to say, I have seen high preasures that come in and sets on top of us for days, same with low preasure systems comming in and setting and while they are setting I never seem to do any good...

I bought a Minkota fishing barometer at Wal-mart , today it is at 30.4 and is in the " average " range for the fish bite .
www.blumsalmanac.com go to the fishing almanac page for a rundown of what lies ahead for us fishermen .
