End of the month outing
#1
It looks like we may have one of our Idaho BFT brothers returning agian at the end of the month.

We are still trying to contemplate on Fresh/Salt, Tube/Boat and Long Beach/Oxnard or OC/LA/Ventura County waters.

As the date comes closer, we can come to a decision. This member will be staying in Simi Valley so I kind of wanted to keep the trip to an hour or less from where he will be.

Anybody want to throw some ideas out there for the aforementioned areas??? I already know where I would take him for fresh or salt.[cool]

We have plenty of time to plan. We will even let our guest cast a vote as well. Since he tubes as well as fishes, the vote could go either way.[cool]

The Lagoon is always on my list of favorites for the sweetwater. That would also keep it close enough to keep him interested.[cool]

Even Mac would love the easy launch from there too.[blush]

Castaic Lake. Right below the dam, check it out on Google Earth. Then fish it up with our very own guide.TN2! I landed my first Bass over Ten there on an AC lure. Since then that lake has provided me with some wild sights. Helecopters show up and guys jump out into the lake, mock rescues. Hawks ambushing and eating coots. Wild partys and skinny dippers out of the campground. So many shooting stars I couldn't count them. Good for a chance at a big fish or a shot at numbers this is one great ishery. Brought to you by the California DFG. Planting little colorful Bass food in there every week.

I have plenty of Salt Gear to loan. If you do plan on doing salt, any of your Bass gear would be fine because of the current deep water closures.

I just got a new handfull of rods in from my sponsor to be tested out.

We can have all kinds of fun in the tubes from 100 yds or less from the shore in the ocean. We can also have tons of fun in a couple different lakes around here.

I have a good assortment of saltwater flies and plenty to share. Otherwise bring some nice streamers with sparkle as well as Olive and Black Wooley Buggers. Pistol Petes are also good on the menu.

There are a few decent motels close to my house. Many of the other out of state BFT dudes have stayed in them.

See you soon.[cool]

Perhaps the 5wt and one of those sp...sp..sp.....spinning set ups you had last time.

It looks like we may be lake fishing. In the tube/toons. Maybe we'll just go back to Corona or it's sister lake of Santa Ana Rive Lakes.

The new state record is still in there and waiting to be caught.[cool]
