With all the slow reports from deer creek, I would hit the nelle for sure. You should get into some fish .... Good luck snap some photo's and post a report when you get back...

If you consider 10 to 25 fish a day slow. then yes the D.C. is terrible. I wouldn't go there.. lol

I am going to try Jordanelle. I have never fished Jordanelle any pointers? I have fished Deer Creek a lot was just going to use the same techniques. Downriggers down 20 feet. Jakes and other small lures on top. Trolling slow close to the shore. Probably try pop gear and a worm. if we catch some fish few maybe try a bottom bouncer for walleye? Any pointers?

I have read other posts that Deer Creek is slow. I have never fished Jordanelle. Deer Creek is closer. Once it warms up I usually go to Strawberry, Scofield, or the Gorge on a Long Weekend. Wondering if the slow fishers were fishing from the shore? I only fish with my boat or a fly rod.

That is one of the only positive reports I have heard on deer creek in the last couple weeks. Care to share some wisdom, pics or techniques?

The same techniques that you had success at Deer Creek should work at Jordanelle; however, be aware that Jordanelle has far more snags than Deer Creek.

if you search the threads at all, you would find tips, tricks, techniques, and pics from last weekend.

You don't have to share if you don't want to but you don't have to be a smart arse about it either....

spinner rig - no
trolling speed - slow slow slow slow slow
crestliner - yes

Wow what a tip and advise slow trolling in a crestliner with something other than a spinner rig that narrows it down. Thanks for the insight!

"headed up to D.C. this morning to try for some walleye. Got to launch close to 7. We fished the north shore for close to five hours with no bites then decided a change was needed. After 20 rainbows in about two hours we decided to head up to the flats and try for walleye one more time. After bottom bouncing around ten minutes i hooked my first D.C. Walleye. What a rush!!!! "

[cool][#0000ff]That was your report from last week. With all due respect, that was not a "complete report"...with details. Nothing there that I could use, if I wanted to try to duplicate your success...especially if I was hitting the lake for the first time...or the first time this year.[/#0000ff]

Man 20 dinky slimy rainbows IS a slow day for me and that one that was huge, i dont think so. [blush] I rather catch 10 big browns than 50 rainbows. So its off to Jordanelle for me.
