[cool]Sorry for the late post, but finally got camera to download pics. Went to 33 hole in the floatube to get some stripers. Got first one,2lber,on a rattle trap on 7th cast of the morning. Kicked into vegas wash and saw tons of shad being chased to the shore in a small cove by birds and small stripers. Shad were about 5 inches long. Kicked back to point off 33 hole aqnd got my last three on a white Gulp! minnow grub. Fish went from 2lbs to 3lbs.Got off the water when the white caps came up.

Hey BigE,

i just picked up a toon & a tube and am looking for some others "in the know" for advice while I get started. Let me know if you're going out and don't mind having a noob tag along.

thanks,
Eric

[cool]Hey Erawk, Not a problem. I usually go out on everyother friday after work(about 1or 2pm). The heat can get a little annoying but being in the water takes the edge off. I stay out for about 2-3 hours, depending on the bite or my stubbornness. Once in a while I'll go out at gray light on a saturday or other day that I get off. I mainly fish with lures(soft plastics, crankbaits, etc) or flies. Early morning topwater can be a blast! If you want, I'll shoot you a PM before I go out next time.

Right on BigE. i usually dont get off til 5 on Fridays but Im sure i could swing it one of these days. Saturdays are easier since im always off.. When you say grey light you mean 4or5am yeah? If there's anything I'l get up early for... its fishin. Moreso than work. I am just getting started with plastics and cranks etc (although i just got a bunch) so it would be great to see some techniques firsthand. I'd really appreciate. Drop a line anytime and thanks again.

Do you use waders when you're tubin or "free ball" it? lol.
The water is retty nice so are they really necessary?
Thanks

[cool]Hey Erawk, I wear breatheable(lightweight) waders during the hot months. I'm in the water for a long time and i don't want to be all "pruned" up. They still keep you cool.
